*grins* I was hoping you'd say that. Now, let's see... *begins thinking up possible story plots*

I’ve checked. They’ve only got The Ghostfaces. I don't how the libraries work in England, but our library let's you reserve items from other places. You could maybe try that.

Our library lets you request books and they normally try to get them. In such situations, it's especially useful to have a dozen other friends that also read the series and request the same book.

Well, I’ve now read BB 2-5, and I’m currently re-reading The Ghostfaces.
As I haven’t read Early Years or Royal Ranger (although I have the first RR, rereading RA and reading Brotherband got in the way), so far I can only choose between RA and BB. I’m enjoying BB more, so far. But it’s really difficult to choose between them. If you’d asked me which was my favourite out of Ruins of Gorlan and The Outcasts when those were the only ones I’d read, I doubt I’d have been able to choose between them. And if I hadn’t read RA first, I wouldn’t have enjoyed BB nearly as much. I would not, for example, have laughed so much at them saying ‘I was thinking’ or ‘I thought’, and I remember being confused when reading The Outcasts when I hadn’t read Oakleaf Bearers (or any other RA books except the first, for that matter). It’s also possible that BB feels fresh after I’ve read RA so many times. Lots of new characters, yet also brings back old characters with more detail (Gilan, for example), rather than me knowing what’s going to happen and maybe not appreciating the plot twists as much. But I still enjoyed BB far more than I ever remember enjoying RA. So, for that reason, I’m going to say that BB is my favourite. However, that doesn’t stop RA being one of my favourite series of all time.

That's cool, Booklover. I'm honestly not sure which series was my favorite. I liked them both a lot. If I had to choose though, I would maybe pick RA.

Fair enough. You don't really need to choose, I just find it interesting.

I don't really like the royal ranger cause he just turned will into halt and we had already read that story of a young apprentice bringing life in. I have only read the first though and am halfway through the second. I like the early years but there are too many inconsistencies for me to really get engaged. my favorite is the rangers apprentice but brotherband is very good. I like rangers apprentice cause it was my first and I like the fantasy ish aspects in the first few books. brother band is also great cause it really expands the world.
edit. he also killed allice which I was not a fan of. he could of started the royal ranger series lets say 200 or 300 years in the future, and the rangers are losing their relevance and fear as guns entire the realm, and they are hard to be hidden. he could have had it as a princess who effectively reinvigorates an over bureaucratic and old fashioned organization stuck in the past because of the legends of will and halt or whatever, and they can be effectively sister kingdom with scandia. either way the princess rearms the rangers and causes a large break between the unchanging rangers and the ones willing to evolve. i think it would have been more interesting to get a new set of characters forced to face different challenges. maybe the arridi and toscanese are preparing for war and both have defensive alliances so that is the dynamic for at least book 2-4 after that. maybe the scandians side with the other empire they are forced to go back on their old friends. in the first 2 books make sure to create awesome and friendly scandian characters so that we are sad when they side with the other and our characters end up in a battle to against each other. also be great if this one was slightly more teen or adult in terms of letting characters lose or die, or make the wrong choice. either way, the princess has to then decide between ranger and queen as her younger brother is senile and would be an ineffective ruler, especially against the now estranged scandians.
really anything with new characters with a none-recycled storyline would have been great.

Now that's an interesting idea! A tad heavier than most of John Flanagan's work, but it would certainly be a fascinating read! (You ever considered writing fanfiction?)

i have tried writing. it always gets stuck in the actual story part. i can usually come up with a satisfactory plot and themes woven in, but when it comes to writing i am lacking. im taking ap english so i will see though😂

The fandom desperately needs more fanfic content so it'd be great actually! I like the concept a lot.

Honestly, the best way to get better is to do it and you have a good idea. A story can always be rewritten later, once you have more skill, but it's hard to get that without actually writing.
