I was expecting the filming would take some time, but apparently the Lord of the Rings trilogy had less than a year of film time

Filming isn't the only thing involved in making a movie. The editing can take a while, depending on how determined the producers are to get the movie finished.

I'm really looking forward to see the finished movie. I will however try my best to pull down my expectations a bit so I don't get disappointed if it isn't as fantastic as I think it could be. I would like to see the finished movie asap but do definitely prefer to wait a bit longer if it would make the movie better. If it goes well it could really make the Rangers more generally known and that may lead to more people signing up on this forum.

Yeah, part of me is really, really happy because the fandom might grow a lot. Part of me is sad because this series will lose its trait of having little to no character art so everyone has their own version of them in their minds.

Yeah, I'm just working to get my friends to read the books before the movie comes out. So far, most of them have done so.

I think it would be cool if they did a movie in Araluen with the same characters but made their own story up.

I think it would be best to not risk it, staying loyal to the book while still making use of the advantages a movie brings would be a more reasonable choice in my opinion.
